JOB DESCRIPTION

The Graphic Designer (Print) position is responsible for creating the graphics and designing the layout of our central products. Our business is personalized medical information and the Graphic Designer will help ensure that this information is understood, absorbed, and acted upon by our customers. This is key if we are to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of medicine in this country. Specific responsibilities of this position will involve communication with the relevant team members to access the needs that the genetic analysis reports must meet, conception and creation of the genetic analysis reports, and integration of these reports into our automated report generation system. This position is ideal for an industrious, innovative, and self-motivated graphic design professional with exceptional attention to detail and an interest in scientific/medical information. As this is a telecommute consultancy position, the candidate must provide his or her own workspace and materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Communicate effectively and efficiently with team members using email, phone, and specialized telecommunication software.

- Conceptualize genetic report design elements and layout, taking into account the technical and communication needs of the report.

- Assist developers with the integration of these designed elements into the automated report generation system and make timely adjustments to these designs if the technical needs require it.

- Continue providing and adapting designs for these reports and other company products as we grow and expand into the Personalized Medicine space.

- Be a proactive team member in the process of our product design, from conceptualization to use.

REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years of professional experience as a Graphic Design Professional specializing in print design.

- Extensive experience in Desktop Publishing using Word, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

- Be available immediately

- Have available examples of recent desktop publishing work to send us during the interview process

- Must be an expert in the creation of print templates that incorporate robust and adaptable formatting.

- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively from remote locations.

- Must have a passion for improving the lives of others through the use of more personal and humane medicine.

- Excitement about working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

- A proactive problem solver that shows initiative and is able to work on their own from home.

- Experience with software development a big plus, although not required.
